Delight Foods withdraws pickle products in UK

Delight Foods is withdrawing Periyar Fish Pickle and Periyar Prawn Pickle in the UK due to incorrect labeling, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The products contain sesame oil, which has been listed as gingelly oil. Consuming these products can lead to severe reactions in people with allergy to sesame.

The following products are being withdrawn: Periyar Fish Pickle 400g and Periyar Prawn Pickle 400g of all date codes.

According to FSA, the company has withdrawn the products from sale, and is ensuring future stock is correctly labeled . It will contact the relevant allergy support organizations, which will inform their members of the withdrawal.

No other Periyar products are known to be affected.
